Alleshave is located in the region called Sejerøbugten on Westsealand near the largest coastal moor Vesterlyng with both meadows, ponds, heather and a rare flora - a little paradise- beautiful and peaceful

The beaches

Along the Sejerø bay and the Kattegat coastline you find Sjælland's best beaches. Dunes, lyme grass, fine sand and a slightly sloping sand bottom make the 'best playground in the world'.

Behind the dunes you will find the moors and the pine plantations. The best beaches are those along the Sejerø bay (Havnsø Vesterlyng ( 2 km from Vesterhavegaard) , Sanddobberne, Ordrup Gudmindrup andVig Lyng). The region has 8 'Blue Flag'-beaches, meaning that they all live up to the highest standards when it comes to quality of the water, sanitary conditions etc.

The islands

Sejerų - 11 kilometres long and 2 kilometres wide - is one of the places in Denmark blessed with the most hours of sunshine. The mild climate, the hilly landscape and the many beaches make the island a very popular place to visit for an outing or a holiday. The island has several burial mounds and a monolith (north-west of Sejerby).

The church was built at the end of the 1200s and has beautiful frescos. The trip to Sejerø takes place on the ferry from Havnsø and this is also the starting-place of the Nekselø-ferry.

Nekselų - four kilometres long and 1 kilometre wide and the hilly landscape and the unique nature make it an obvious choice for a day's outing. There are two well-marked paths on the island. An outstanding birdlife will unfold before your eyes as you walk.

Traces from the past

Both in Sejerø and Vig in Odsherred there are monoliths, just like the hilly landscape has many burial mounds. The best known of these are 'Jættestuerne' by Stenstrup. Dragsholm Castle - the oldest in Denmark - was originally a fortress from the early Middle Ages.

The castle is famous for having had the Earl of Bothwell among its residents when he was imprisoned here in the dungeon. Among the many churches in the area some are more prominent than others: Bregninge church, Højby church and Odden church (the monument of the naval hero, Willemoes).

Active outdoors

The region is not just scenic - it provides the perfect frame to a life outdoors. The area is ideal for biking- and walking trips, if you like "mountainous" surraoundings try the 30 km long walk in the hills around Veddinge and Vejrhøj. Everywhere marked bicycle- and walking routes are at hand, for instance the Sejerø Bugt-route and "Uroksestien".

Anglers can enjoy the many fishing grounds along the varied coastline or by the Lammefjord canals where the carp fisching is excellent. Sea fishing from cutter is an experience. From both Havnsø and Sjællands Odde you can go to the fine grounds in the Sejerø Bugt and the Kattegat.

If you would rather try a nice trout lake, the north-western part of Zealand presents no fewer than 3 - one by Svebølle and two by Højby. Golfers may give it a try on the Kalundborg Golfklub and the 18- hole course here. Or try your luck on the newly established Dragsholm Golf Club with both a 9-hole and an 18-hole golf course.

Shopping

Kalundborg, located 20 mins. From Alleshave is a lively commercial town with an interesting harbour where there are ferry departures to & Aarhus and the island of Samsoe. Experience the narrow streets of the medieval town with their well-preserved half-timbered houses and uneven cobblestone streets. See the unique church with five towers, Vor Frue Kirke.

World-class architecture. Also visit Roesnaes peninsula which, over and above being an unusually attractive, captivating area of natural beauty, is also one of Denmark's sunniest locations. This delightful area is only a few kilometres west of the town.
